Katherine’s playful ceramics have a gentle, enigmatic humour which coaxes your imagination onto action. She enjoys drawing into the clay and makes figurative groups which hint at stories. The pieces set you wondering. It might be the exchange of a glance or a randomly placed penguin, there's always something to think about. These oddly Medieval looking pieces are worth spending time with. The more you look, the more you begin to question, and that’s where the fun begins.
Katherine works in a shed in Newbury. She has a background in ceramics and teaching, making and mending, poking about in museums, mothering and general pottering. She also keeps a lively sketchbook and all of this feeds into the pieces.
