Having achieved my degree in Ceramics over 40 years ago, I have never lost my love and excitement for working in clay and exploring its versatility.
Constantly drawn to the fragile beauty found within the landscape, exploring and interpreting patterns, textures and vistas through my hand built ceramic vessels and tree and garden sculptures. I work with a smooth white stoneware and porcelain clays for there strength, delicacy and versatility. Creating surface finishes with a mix of glazes and smoke-firing techniques, which add that unexpected element and patina to the pieces.
This year I have designed and developed two new ranges of garden sculptures based on "Summer" along with a selection of new decorative forms.
There will be a student challenge exhibition based on the theme 'Summer' so please come along and vote for the first, second and third places
As a ceramic artist/tutor, I offer regular, small friendly 10wk ceramic workshops. In addition a number of weekend specialist courses in Smoke-Firing and Raku work, in my fully equipped Newbury 'Smoke & Fire Studio'.
