Craven Road Studio - Print, Ceramics, Textiles, Mixed Media

Wendy Lloyd and Ursula Waechter will be exhibiting together over the last two weekends of Open Studios and the bank holiday Monday at Wendy's studio in Westfields, close to the centre of Newbury.
Wendy continues to explore landscape and abstract compositions using a wide variety of print and textile techniques. Her experimental approach frequently combines traditional and new methods and merges paper and textile media. Her favourite print medium is collagraph, but her practice also encompasses various forms of etching, drypoint, monotype, block print and chine collé. The work she will be showing in May ranges from framed and mounted prints and textile pieces to cards, covered sketchbooks, hand-dyed scarves and bags.
Ursula will be showing three different groups of work. 'BlueAndWhite' has been a favourite with her for as long as she has been making pots and she is thrilled to spend some time revisiting this after many years. 'RedAndGreen' is a more recent colour combination that Ursula has been concentrating on; vibrant is possibly the right word to describe it. The group of pots 'ForCoffee' is something she has developed over the last few years. Ursula loves the colour combination of blue and brown which in a subtle way this group falls into. Still a tin-glaze, it is much higher fired and can be put into the microwave and dishwasher.
On street parking is limited, though usually available and we are a 5 minute walk from the Kennet Centre car park or a delightful walk along the canal from the town centre.
