Having achieved my degree in ceramics over 40 years ago, I've never lost my love and excitement for working with clay and exploring its versatility.
Constantly drawn to the fragile beauty found within the landscape, exploring and interpreting patterns, textures and vistas through my hand formed ceramic vessels and sculptures. I work with white stoneware and porcelain clay for their strength and delicacy, creating the surface treatment with a mix of glaze and smoke-firing techniques which adds that unexpected element and patina to the piece.
As a ceramic artist /teacher, I offer regular small friendly 10wk workshops and weekend specialist courses in Smoke-Firing and Raku in my fully equipped Newbury Smoke & Fire Studio.
