31 Westridge Studios

Westridge Studio this year hosts a Magnificent Seven group of artists with an eclectic mix of 2D and 3D styles. Landscape is a predominant theme; Helen Cheetham’s paintings are bold, vibrant and expressive landscapes, mainly worked in acrylic and oil; Helen Grimbleby starts her land/seascape painting process outdoors with oils, inks and watercolours and Catherine Allison’s repertoire includes landscapes as well as animals and life drawings. Jo Arkell throws functional, everyday pots in porcelain and stoneware clay and her jewellery is lampworked Venetian glass beads set in sterling silver. Teresa Munn’s work is driven by themes of text/texture/landscape with storytelling at its heart. Her experimental work this year included a collaboration with Jane Fullman whose work is inspired by the transient and ever-changing patterns of nature. Jane uses wire and bobbin lace techniques to weave her intricate and unique jewellery and art. Moya Tosh brings movement and life to her ceramic work by manipulating the clay, stretching, piercing and cutting it and later ‘stitching’ it with leather cord.
Ground floor wheelchair accessible.
