Art disciplines: Drawing and painting
Working primarily in acrylic, oil paint and pastels, I am a landscape painter drawn to the dramatic effects light creates across land, sky and water. The dynamic relationship between landscapes and people is a constant source of inspiration to me, offering endless opportunities to explore colour, light and atmospheric effects. My paintings are bold and expressive, shaped not only by close observation but equally by the memories and emotions that underly and inform them.
I studied Art History at university, a deep foundation that has informed my fascination with visual language and been instrumental in my continued appreciation of the work of many artists. My career in gallery and museum education has allowed me to share the power of art with others, and in my current role as art tutor I’ve witnessed how deeply transformative creativity through art can be. In recent years I have dedicated more time to developing my own practice, experiencing that same transformative energy in the studio.
I hope that my paintings offer you the opportunity to pause, reflect, and connect with the natural world in a wide variety of settings.
