Art disciplines: Drawing and painting

Catherine , having been encouraged by the late sculptor Stella Shawzin ,resumed art after a career in teaching.
Animals, landscapes and life drawing are her chief subjects.
She is a member of The Association of Animal Artists. The Mall Gallery, London, Rye art Gallery.The Rose Paterson Gallery Shropshire, The Station Gallery Richmond Yorks and the West Berkshire Museum have shown some of her work.
The Royal Society of British artists presented Catherine with the Geoffrey Vivis memorial award in 2022 for her oil painting “Pug.”
Her painting of a young lion was Highly Commended by the conservation Charity Explorers against Extinction in their 2025 ‘Sketch For Survival’ competition.
Some of her work is permanently on display or for sale at the West Berkshire Vets Practice in Newbury .
