This is Jill Hobbs’ second year with open studios. Since discovering she could paint during the pandemic she has spent the last 2 years developing her style by exploring portraiture, landscapes and the use of vibrant colour in Acrylics on canvas and wood. Jill has been a nurse for over 12 years so conversation comes naturally and she has been busy telling the stories of her youth with a series of portraits of her childhood icons and landscapes of places held close to her heart. Jill has completed various commissions for people all over the UK and was recently awarded “Vibrant Portrait Artist of the Year 2022” by the ‘Warwickshire Advertiser’. Jill is very passionate about art and has decided to go full-time this year. Jill currently volunteers at the local primary school to run short art sessions and holds regular workshops for both children and adults to come and paint in her beautiful garden studio on the outskirts of East Ilsley.
