Sally Bettridge

Art disciplines: Ceramics
Having trained as a production thrower, my love of using the wheel is always foremost in my work. I am showing a range of slip decorated, high fired earthenware forms which explore my love of the fluidity of traditional coloured slip decoration. There will be a new range of slab constructed forms on show this year. I employ the traditional techniques of throwing and slip trailing to make my pieces in batches of the same form. In the case of bowls, this can take up to 5 days to complete before they can be dried and twice fired.
I also make a range of stoneware and earthenware garden pots and mugs and will be at my wheel demonstrating throwing, turning and decorating during Open Studios.
My workshop is open the first weekend of each month from May to December or by appointment.
