Art disciplines: Drawing and painting

I like to paint en plein air where possible and the weather permits. Often working further on paintings back in the studio assisted by sketches and photographs. My inspiration can come from anywhere – a walk in the countryside in Berkshire Wiltshire or Hampshire – a patch of sunlight on the fields – an amazing holiday in foreign parts. The main driver being to reconstruct something of the essence of the place or the feeling inspired within me whether through a landscape, seascape or a still life. I am more and more drawn to the use of bright bold colours and semi-abstract execution.
