My portfolio collects some of my latest work: large watercolour paintings inspired by the local landscape as well as by being playful with colour and mark making. Also represented are recent multiplate collagraph prints inspired from my observations of Wash Common burial mounds. And finally some work from my 2022 summer sketchbook that I am developing into a series of original silkscreen prints. For me, the observation of my surroundings while painting is always the beginning of a memory that then evolves and transforms as I work in different media where my imagination mixes with the reality of the recorded picture. Other starting points are poems, writings and repeated patterns that get imagined as they are played with in the studio. I teach various painting and drawing techniques both locally and internationally and also offer collagraph printing courses and bookbinding courses.
