Art disciplines: Environmental art, Jewellery, Printmaking
My work is shaped by a deep connection to the shoreline and the rhythms of the coast. I create monoprints that emerge from the materials and impressions I gather directly from the beach—pressed seaweed, fossil textures, and fragments marked by erosion. These elements carry their own histories, formed slowly by salt water, tide movement and shifting sands.
Using hand-cut stencils and masks, I layer these found impressions with ink to build up surface, light and shadow. Each print reflects a moment of change: the transient patterns left behind by waves, the subtle marks of weathering, and the interplay of colour that echoes shifting tides and coastal geology.
Rather than replicate the landscape, I’m interested in translating its sensory qualities—its textures underfoot, its salt-worn shapes, its tidal rhythms. My process is both experimental and responsive; I allow the unpredictable nature of the materials to guide the composition. In this way, every piece becomes a collaboration with the coastline itself.
