Art disciplines: Drawing and painting

Ross is a self-taught artist, having spent the last few years learning how to draw and bring forth character with watercolour pencils. This portfolio outlines his artistic journey over that time, bringing various animals to life through multiple layers of colours, texture and brushwork. Ross started working on a small scale (most of his pieces are on A5-sized canvas) and embracing realism by connecting small pockets of fine detail together. Subtle colouring holds a distinct fascination for Ross who aims to bring forth personality with each canvas strike.

Ross has started moving to larger canvas sizes, with a move from static headshots to more interactive scenes and in 2026 will be continuing this whilst also investigating other themes such as human portraiture or scenes more fantastical in nature.
