I’ve always enjoyed making things and creating something from found items, such as paper, plaster or wire. I especially enjoy using clay for its malleable properties, but I’ve also explored thermolite block carving, paverpol and ciment fondu and found they each have their own delightful properties to work with.
My inspiration is taken mostly from nature and the human form and in found things around me such as buttons, jewellery, stones, photographs and magazines. I like to create clean curvy lines to accentuate the shape and form, along with clear, complimentary colours.
Currently my project is to develop all kinds of clay heads to see how they each emerge. They aren’t a portrait of anyone, though some may be suggestive of someone known to me but all have their own expression and are accessorized with various items to develop their character.
