After British naturalisation at 20 I studied Fine Art at Wimbledon School of Art; History of Art, teaching art and training at Goldsmiths lead most significantly to my 30 year career as Senior Art therapist specialising in forensic psychotherapy, which drew my attention to the unconscious, to the power of symbol and metaphor.
Painting’s full time for me; I love many artists, including Van Gogh, Rauschenberg, Bomberg, Nash, Picasso (‘I don’t seek; I find’), Marlene Dumas, Anya Gallacio; all contribute to me expressing my voice. There's a kind of rediscovery and building on the past; my aim always to reassess what I see often through abstraction and metaphor, exploring life experiences in the spotlight, looking beyond surfaces.
