Shirley Eccles is captivated by the unique qualities of different media, with a particular focus on glass. She uses the material’s fragility and sensitivity to explore themes of memory, time, and personal experience. Her work is driven by the emotional resonance of materials and the discovery that comes from engaging with the unknown.
Holding a BA in Fine Art and Ceramics & Glass, Shirley approaches glass as a versatile medium, whether for Conceptual Art, Installations, or Applied Arts. Each piece demands its own technique, allowing the material to reflect the deeper meaning within her work.
In addition to her practice, Shirley shares her passion for glass through workshops for both children and adults. For inquiries, she can be contacted at Shirley.e@btopenworld.com.
