Johannes von Stumm worked for many years combining stone, metal and glass uniting all the contrasting materials in a well balanced unity.
The transparency and translucency of glass lead Johannes von Stumm to a new way to shape the human figure. The sculptor left the glass behind and is now creating human figures made out of space. These figures are filled with day light and darkness, with the sun, the moon and the stars, with rain, hail and snow.
The emptiness of the human form allows it to be filled by the whole universe around it.
Emptiness becomes Fullness.
