I like to paint en plein air where possible and the weather permits but failing that I work from sketches and photographs back in the studio. My inspiration can come from anywhere - a walk in the countryside- a patch on sunlight on the fields - an amazing holiday to foreign parts. The main driver being to reconstruct something of the feeling in that moment whether it is a landscape or still life. I am more and more attracted to bright colours and abstract or semi abstract execution.
