I make pottery for use and decoration. The technique is called Maiolica; brush-painted tinglazed earthenware. I throw most of my work on the potters wheel and decorate with oxide mixtures and bright stains using calligraphic brushes and brushwork designs, latex resist and sgrafitto, where I draw lines through the colour back to the white glaze.
I work on commissions to celebrate weddings and births.
I offer taster sessions for throwing on the wheel, if you would just like to have a go.
If you want to improve your throwing skills, I offer individual tuition and also individual tuition in brushwork decoration.
1/2 day and full day workshops for two people sharing, with one person handbuilding, while the other uses the wheel.
