Nature is our connection to all things, it is my inspiration. In this fast paced world, we often need to be grounded. With my paintings I go back to basics and seek to evoke the natural beauty that’s all around us.

I’m in love with colour, I’m mesmerized by the nature of watercolours, with beautiful washes of explosive and invigorating vibrancy. Flowers become more alive, bee’s so much fluffier, oceans deeper and darker, and so thus employ it to communicate emotion and mood.

I often start a painting with a clear idea of how it will progress, the colours and composition, but it can often take a different organic route. My paintings have many stages, each a reaction to the next and I have found that my best work comes when I am at peace, wrapped up in the details of the moment and not worried about the outcome.
