I find the whole creative process endlessly fascinating and absorbing. I love painting, and whilst I relish the challenge of portraits and still life, my passion is landscape painting. My main inspiration for landscape is the scenery of the North Cornish coast which I know very well. I believe that landscape is more than just the physical form, it is also the air and light that gives it real life, a feeling I try to bring to my paintings. I love observing the sky and clouds and am always trying to capture the drama and energy of what I see before me in my work. My best works come when I am working energetically and quickly without overthinking my choices of mark-making.
