Fiona is a sculptor based in North Hampshire, creating art that explores themes of nature and the shapes and forms they present. She primarily works in clay, but also explores mixed media processes in her work.
She is inspired by natural forms and enjoys the process of moulding and forming the material.
She enjoys experimenting with different textures, as well as challenging herself to create original works inspired by the natural world in her own personal style.
Fiona likes to work in various sizes with different mediums including ceramics, plaster, cimente fondu, and wire. She prefers to have clarity of colour giving clear contrasts in her work along with clean, curving lines.
She’s attended many art courses both in 2D and 3D subjects and has especially valued being a member of the Wessex Sculptors for several years where she enjoyed both block carving and using cimente fondu to create sculptures. It was also an opportunity to work with other sculptors where they encouraged and discussed issues with each other.
In 2008 Fiona gained a National Diploma in Art and Design with a triple grade distinction.
