Emma's work often explores themes of journey and boundaries. She uses drawing as a way to map out her inner and outer worlds and to explore the connections between the two. She is interested in the ways in which light can be used to create atmosphere, and mood and to evoke a sense of spirituality.
Emma's work is characterized by its use of light and shadow, and its focus on the details of the natural world. She often uses doorways and windows as symbols of thresholds and possibilities. Her work is a meditation on the nature of reality, and the possibilities that exist beyond the known world, often concerned with the concept of boundaries both physical and psychological. Exploring the ways in which boundaries can be crossed, and the consequences of doing so.
These works all explore the idea of what lies beyond the known world. They suggest that there is something more to reality than what we can see and that there are possibilities waiting to be discovered.
In addition to her art practice, Emma is also a passionate educator inspiring others to find the creativity hidden inside. Whether working with young people to Adults she uses her enthusiasm to inspire the students to be creative in a variety of design and artistic workshops and courses.
