I have been busy Drawing and painting this past year, Flowers and vines in my French garden drawing from life and sometimes drawing on linens and adding machine embroidery.
Infinitely fascinating are the colours and shapes, particularly our hibiscus bushes and the many insects they encourage, red shield bugs adore them and so too the butterflies. We saw many insects but not so many bees & birdlife has declined the RSPB tells us because of the dearth of insects.
We had a bumper crop of grapes there, but we had to leave them behind for our neighbours…
My sloes tho’ are still in the freezer from last year waiting for us to bottle them up with gin.
I have been trying to echo leaves in my printmaking, mainly to practise pattern making and have recently been concentrating on backgrounds.
