I create floral paintings which capture the beauty of colour only seen by slowing down and noticing. I paint to inspire others to see the world through a new lens, a world full of colour and possibility and hope. Each artwork is made of layers of oil that build more depth and colour variation within each petal. Recently I have switched from acrylics to oils because I love the textures oils allow me to create within each pieces. I also love that the longer drying time allows me to paint at a slower pace, around my life of a mother, teacher and wife. I am inspired by my everyday life. I look for inspiration everywhere, slowing, stopping and noticing. The shutters on the closed down shop at my local shopping complex are the latest part of my everyday that have made it into my paintings.
