I have been making glazed stoneware pots for twenty years and for the last seven years I have been firing them in a wood-fired kiln outside my studio south of Newbury. I add salt and soda to the kiln during firing, which alters the appearance of the surface. I try to make beautiful and practical vessels which are good to hold, have a complex surface which rewards repeated viewings and give a sense of movement and energy through their form and surface design.
