I started painting after retiring a few years ago, from being a jewellery designer/maker.
Attending Life drawing classes with Arran Miles led me towards the desire to paint. I am enjoying the challenge of learning something new and experimenting with different mediums - acrylics and oils I find are the mediums that suit me.
Studying History of Art and visiting art exhibitions all help to inspire me as well as meeting other Open Studio artists.
I am a nature lover and keen gardener so I think my paintings reflect these passions, I often seem to go back to painting favourite flowers and the beautiful Berkshire landscape around me.
I am experimenting with a more abstract approach and a looser style. Colour and texture are important to me.
I am delighted to be exhibiting as WESTBROOK ARTISTS, with Bryony, my neighbour and also Emma Moscow (a Milliner), who lives opposite me. We will she showing some of our work at THE WATERMILL THEATRE with David Jones, John Brazendale and Jonathan Newey.
