My main inspiration is the scenery of North Cornwall both land and sea. I think that the landscape is more than just the physical form, it is the light and air that gives it energy, dynamism and real life. I love observing the sky, the drama of the clouds, weather and the light in the landscape which I try to capture in paint. I think my best work comes when I am working energetically and quickly without over-thinking my choices of mark making.
