I have always enjoyed painting my garden with its wide variety of flowers but this year I have changed the way I paint. I lay colours side by side, in an impressionistic style. This method allows light and shadow to develop through the choice of different colours and tones of colour. I like the light effect it gives and plan to experiment with this way of working in landscapes and figure painting.
