Ross is a self taught artist, having spent the last five years learning how to draw and bring forth character with watercolour pencils. This portfolio outlines his artistic journey over that time, bringing various animals to life through multiple layers of colours, texture and brush work. Working in small scale (most of his pieces are on A5 sized canvas) and embracing realism by connecting small pockets of fine detail together is the logical approach to art has chosen to undertake. Subtle colouring holds a distinct fascination for Ross who aims to bring forth personality with each canvas strike.
In 2022, Ross is continuing his collaboration to bring an Ojibwe children's language book to life with his watercolour pencil illustrations. He is also creating new portraits for various exhibitions planned across the country showcasing the beauty of the wilds. Ross is also aiming to start up some workshops that teach adults how to get creative and embrace their inner artist.
Art therapy is also a strong driving force for Ross, who is looking to better understand its concepts and ways to weave that into his general artistic experience. His live streaming experience on Twitch already utilises some of these ideals, but he is looking to better channel them to benefit viewers and himself.
