I am delighted to be showing my work with Lorna Goldsmith & Artists at Ashford Hill Church this Spring. ‘Going around’ in circles is possibly what most of us do in times of trouble & it’s a good name for the current work. Not having my usual French studio has indeed been difficult ; But strangely, more recently my work has become both smaller in size and also larger, Abstract landscapes, small hand weavings & some small, often vintage textiles have inspired them, using my trusty freehand machine embroidery, to echo nature.
My main concerns are still Environmental ones, about our Natural World and I am very glad we are able to escape for walks and to musical concerts once again. I avidly was drawing at Flook’s latest jigs on Tuesday, at Newbury Festival ! Unfortunately No room to Dance at the Corn Exchange…. And My Original Printmaking comes from both these passions.
An Archive of fabulous Silks is on display at Ashford Hill Church. Commissions for silks and use of vintage materials are always welcome.
