Oil and Acrylic are my favourite mediums and am always looking to exploit them – the crispness of acrylic and malleability of oil – sometimes I use both. I look for the highlights and emphasise them. Shadows and reflections intrique me and I look to tell a story. Being a little colour-blind means I see shades more clearly and I try to take advantage of this.

I usually work from my photographs and use big brushes and rollers. At the outset I usually have a clear idea of the picture I am trying to achieve; although this is not a rigid plan and I am often surprised!
