Walking is one of my passions and for many years now my ceramic work has been a reflection of and influenced by the beauty I find within the landscape. Different elements are forever capturing my interest, from vast vistas as you crest a hill to patterns created by nature found underfoot, it’s a continuous exploration and interpretation of what I see and feel.
White stoneware and porcelain clay are my materials of choice for their extreme versatility, great strength, and ability to create delicate forms. My vessels and abstracted sculptural forms are an interpretation of natures’ fragile beauty created in a mix of glaze and smoke fired techniques.
As an experienced ceramic artist and teacher of 30 years, I offer regular creative ceramic workshops from my studio; Smoke & Fire. In addition to exhibiting at the Chapel with my fellow artists I am also opening a Community Exhibition at my Smoke & Fire Studio showcasing not only my own work but that of my students including a joint tutor/student garden sculpture project.
