For me, Art is self discovery; a journey defined by the development of hidden and deliberate marks, using a combination of materials and methods.

In the past year my journey with Art has seen me venture out using new techniques. The introduction of marble as my base media has provided both considerable challenges and rewards. The marble enhances and provides contrast to the fine and characterful markings applied.

I create nature inspired works by connecting to the natural world and sourcing materials best suited to enhance the subjects drawn. The seasonal drama of our landscape resonates with memories of time spent in a particular place and recalling times spent living in the far east. Our winter, in particular, provides inspiration for the dramatic delicacy evoked and in my Japanese influenced work.
