I am inspired by artists such as Joan Mitchell and John Piper. The writer Robert Mcfarlane and Patrick Leigh Fermor. The poet John Clare who wrote about the bucolic English landscape and many many more artists.
Working in Acrylics, sometimes dark but often my interpretation using bright colours. I am drawn to abstract light/dark, calm/stormy images suggesting hidden paths and stormy seas.
Local to home is an area of precious woodlands. Dark pathways, Holloways, Landlines and Leylines are a key inspiration in my work during 2020-2022. My project for the next year is "EarthWorks' - buried canvasses, eaten by moss, overlaid with earth and rediscovered months later! I look forward to seeing where These dark and mysterious pathways will take me.
