The House of Hector (my business name) was established in 2000 in South Africa, having studied Gold-smithing in Israel. My passion for stones knows no bounds (probably should have been a Geologist!) So I found myself in the ideal treasure trove of precious and semi precious stones.
Having lived in Southern Africa for 25 years, the spirit, traditions, story telling, mystical and even the Sangoma traditions have influenced my work strongly. Therefore this means that I work not only in gold and silver but brass, copper, wood, shell, leather and anything organic.
Not surprising, Nature is also genuinely a strong influence with my designs, everyday I take myself on long walks with my sometimes reluctant dog, and go out and see what there is to discover and be inspired.
