In January 2021 I showed a variety of works in my Open Studios Portfolio which demonstrated the range of my work. I change the portfolio each month to concentrate on a particular theme. February I showed you some of my Cloud Studio Jugs. These are all slab constructed with extruded handles and rims. Most of them have a certain attitude which they seem to take on during construction. I'm also looking forward to sharing images of my working practice with a range of photos which reveal the processes I use. In March I showcased my 'Bearded Iris' range. Here I tried to reproduce the colours and form of the iris.
April I showed many of my Thrown and Turned 'Belly Pots'. In the glazing I tried to suggest landscapes, the sky, the land, the water.
In May my studio was open for six days as a 'dry run' for the main Open Studios event in September. It was very successful with visitors enjoying the opportunity to get out again.
In June I've chosen to include my new range of 'Ceramic Walls' with themes of still life, trees, landscape and abstract. These are ceramic sculptures designed to be shown both indoors and outdoors. Thank you for looking!
July and August sees the mounting of my ceramic walls onto marble or granite plinths. I'd like to know what you think, all feedback welcome!
