Oil and Acrylic are my favourite mediums and am always looking to exploit them – the crispness of acrylic and malleability of oil – sometimes I use both. I look for the highlights and emphasise them. Shadows and reflections intrique me and I look to tell a story. Being a little colour-blind means I see shades more clearly and I try to take advantage of this.
I usually work from my photographs and use big brushes and rollers. At the outset usually have a clear idea of the picture I am trying to achieve; although this is not a rigid plan and I am often surprised!
My work is usually to be found in THAT GALLERY in Festival Place Basingstoke and I am a member of several local Art Groups. I have exhibited at many local exhibitions in Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey and Oxfordshire including Reading Guild exhibitions, The Reading Art Exhibition. AppART and The Reading Contemporary Art Fair.
