I am thoroughly enjoying the challenge of my ceramic paintings. This year, subject matter includes Donnington Castle and West Berkshire Fairytale landscapes. The techniques involve impressing card templates which have been produced through observational drawings of local landscapes, into the clay. The glazes are then applied using painterly techniques such as scumbling, stippling and grattage.
Slab built flower jugs have always been a favourite theme of mine and I'm returning to it for OS2025, this time with an Art Deco feel.
