Wendy Lloyd and Ursula Waechter will be exhibiting again at Wendy’s studio in Westfields, close to central Newbury.
Wendy continues to experiment with print, textile and mixed media, combining traditional and experimental techniques to create work largely inspired nature and landscape. Her prints incorporate mainly intaglio techniques including collagraph, drypoint and etching; she also enjoys using monotype, chine collé and block printing. In her textile work Wendy incorporates hand and machine stitch with collage. The work she will be showing in May ranges from framed and mounted prints and textile pieces to cards, covered sketchbooks, and hand-dyed scarves, t-shirts and bags.
Ursula makes pottery for use and decoration. The technique she uses is called Maiolica; brush-painted tin-glazed earthenware. She throws most of her work on the potter’s wheel and decorates with oxides and bright stains using latex resist and sgrafitto - drawing lines through the colour back to the glaze. Ursula accepts commissions and teaches throwing and decorating at her workshop.
On street parking is limited, though usually available and we are a 5 minute walk from the Kennet Centre car park or a delightful walk along the canal from the town centre.
