A year of frantic bursts of creativity interspersed with introspection and long walks have been the inspiration for new work which returns to two of my favourite themes – mysterious circles and spheres and figures in wild landscapes. I continue to explore these in print, stitch and mixed media.
In September I will be opening my working studio in Newbury for the first two weekends of Open Studios and I will be joined there by potter Ursula Waechter. There is limited on-street parking, but we are a 5 minute walk from the Kennet Centre car park, Newbury town centre, Isabel Carmona's studio (open 18-19 September) and City Arts which will be holding exhibitions on both weekends (18-19 is the final weekend of 'September Ceramics' and the Newbury Art Collective exhibition is 24-26 September - details below).
As well as opening my studio, I will have work exhibited at City Arts Newbury on the second weekend with the Newbury Art Collective. Other Open Studios artists exhibiting at City Arts from 24 to 26 September are Isabel Carmona (painting and printmaking), Helen Long (ceramics), Ben Honisett (Mix media and photography), Emma Green (printmaker), Katherine Kingdon (ceramics), Wendy Lloyd (textiles and printmaking) and John Brazendale (ceramics).
To allow for spontaneity Ursula and I are NOT operating a visit booking system at my studio, so there is a small chance that you may be asked to mill around in the garden if the studio is busy. For the comfort of everyone, please wear a facemask in indoor spaces.
We look forward to seeing you.
