Helen Long. Ceramicist

Bud Vases

I work as a ceramic artist working from my home studio in Cold Ash, having recently completed a degree in Ceramics at UCA Farnham.  My work is available online and I also takes commissions. Please email for further information.

My work originates in the vessel form, mostly produced on the wheel, investing individual pieces with a sense of fluidity and energy. I find the gentle rhythmic nature of wheel work is both calming and meditative. Each piece is a ‘one-off’. The wheel work does not hide the makers work: The imperfections mark each piece out, imbuing character and spontaneity to the forms.

Please get in touch directly with me if you are interested in viewing my work at any time.

During Open Studios 2021 I will be exhibiting at City Arts Newbury with September Ceramics, from Saturday 11th to Suday 19th September, and with the Newbury Art Collective from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th September. Other Open Studios artists who will be  with me are,  Isabel Carmona (painting and printmaking), Helen Long (ceramics) Ben Honisett (mixed media and photography, Emma Green (printmaker), Katherine Kingdon (ceramics), Wendy Lloyd (textiles and printmaking) and John Brazendale (ceramics).
