Zeus/Bronze/h19cm x w35cm x d14cm/£2,100

Stephen Fry has made Greek Mythology very accessible with his books 'Mythos' and 'Heroes' and from these I learn that Zeus was able to transform himself, be in disguise, to get his way. It was as a white bull that Zeus was able to seduce the goddess Europa. The bronze Zeus pictured here was first inspired by a Belgian Blue breed I saw parading at the Royal Berkshire Agricultural Show. My sculptor's eye draws me to shape and form and the double musculature of this breed is magnificent. Furthermore bronze is the most magnificent medium. So here we have the most magnificent of Greek Gods, Zeus, depicted as the most magnificent white bull and in the most magnificent medium, bronze. The lost wax process of bronze casting is complex, highly skilled and has many stages. See my video of the process using this link https://vimeo.com/468960051. Visit my studio to see the full port folio of my bronzes during the month of May 2021.
In my studio I have a kiln and two potter's wheels. This is where I create ceramic sculptures, teach ceramics in regular classes, as taster sessions, as Prosecco & Clay parties, children's parties, and I do hand casting. I am so looking forward to welcoming visitors and will be establishing a safe booking system to enable social distancing. I plan to have cake available for our enjoyment.
