Blackbirds in the Tulip tree, oil on canvas
Sharon's work in a variety of media, is inspired by the nature at Rookery Farm - each day bringing a new discovery. Her passion for wildlife began aged 4 after finding an Elephant Hawk-moth caterpillar in her garden. The farm has recently created some wild areas encouraging more native fauna and flora for her to study and paint. Visitors to Rookery Farm Studio can enjoy the wonderful garden, views and plant sale in aid of The Air Ambulance.
Sculpture for the Garden and Home, displayed on oak posts/plinths. Birds form the basis of my work with Art Deco overtones, priced between £200 and £22,000. Can be positioned almost anywhere in the garden by simply planting the post into the ground.
I enjoy painting and sketching out in the countryside, taking in the atmosphere while observing colours, shapes and textures. From these sketches I work up larger paintings in oil, acrylic or wax. The results can be quite removed from the original sketch but retains the essence of the original inspiration.

Jan's sculptural 'Pods' will again be shown in Rookery Farm's delightful gardens. They are inspired by the ancient, rotting, but still stately tree trunks she sees during her frequent walks in Savernake Forest. The textural, robust pieces are suited to both indoor and outdoor display. She encourages visitors to touch and enjoy.

Mixed media, Textiles
Spanish Courtyard V, acrylic on textile, approx 40cm x 50cm framed.
Spanish Courtyard I, mixed media and stitch, approx 39cm x 39cm.
Flag Iris, Evening Light (detail), lino and mono print on mixed media, approx 43cm x 71cm.
Using various print techniques and painting on sheer fabrics and paper, I create layered mixed media pieces that are inspired by nature and travel. I use colour, stitched and drawn line and often distorted scale to create mood, representing places or times remembered.
