Basildon Park - ©NTPL/Rupert Truman

Two artists, Sarah Moorcroft, textile designer and Tim Godwin, Artistic Director of THRIFT Theatre will bring to life the fantastic work of the British artist Graham Sutherland. They will work with young people and their parents and carers from Hungerford Primary School and Mary Hare School.

IMPACT: Graham Sutherland at Basildon Park

Graham Sutherland created the famous tapestry for Coventry Cathedral after the cathedral was bombed in the Second World War. It was to be 78' high by 39' wide, at that time the largest in the world. The preliminary drawings for this historic work are on loan to the National trust's Basildon Park. They will be the inspiration for the residency. Practical workshops will take place in the schools and there will be a 'presentation', a DVD and an exhibition.
